Announcing our $1,000 contest winner from the Web 2.0 Expo:
Shuli Golovinski, PSG Group, Israel
Create a community site that will enable developers to connect, network and exchange code and jointly work on projects. So, imagine me, having a new idea in mind I could get more info on the other members, invite them to join my “Virtual Company” and work together to building a project together. Then, we could team to other groups that Microsoft marketing will start to market and sell our new product. A new definition to the word “Company”.
-Increases Opportunities
-Reduces cost of doing business
-Speeds time to sale
-Faster deployments
Our comments:
While Shuli’s idea won by one point, we had 3 ideas tied for 2nd place which were also excellent and we plan to pursue a handful of them. This top-scoring entry won based on the criteria of “Impact; Ease of Execution & Creativity” because it addressed what is often a barrier to growing a business quickly and that is working to scale together with other companies who compliment your business. Microsoft already has in place a Partner-to-Partner tool called “Channel Builder” that helps partners find one another. This idea extends that functionality one step further by not only coordinating around specific projects, but around presenting the resulting project as a “virtual company” to the face of the world.
Our next steps are to check in some of these ideas with the existing tools owner of Channel Builder to explore functionality discussed above. Watch for more of this project at the Worldwide Partner Conference.
Thanks to those who submitted the many thoughtful entries that we received!
